I spent my Saturday afternoon finding myself filled with lots of techie knowledge, informed about google’s solution and entertained.
As part of ICE Ethiopia team, I was helping organizing gtug-addis event. I have known Fitsum Assalif quite for sometime. I am always wondering how he managed to get all these international certifications. I don’t think there is anyone who is certified with Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking in Ethiopia. He did. If you ever want to be a hacker and if you need somebody to talk to, Fitsum is the right person.
I wished I could work with Abinet Zelalem from long time. He is a manager of gtug-addis. He also moderating eAhead.net website. He is working at Apposite. From ecbp team, we were working closer with them in OLPC project. Apposite developed a very interesting tool called Melepo partner with eduvision. I wasn’t surprised when they won the bid to develop SMS and IVR projects for ECX. It is quite a pleasure to work with open minded people like Abinet.
There are people from Ethio Telecom, GIZ, etc.. All interesting, all keen to contribute something for the growing ICT industry in Ethiopia.
Gtug-Addis meeting continues first Saturday of every month. ICE Ethiopia is a perfect place to host such events. I will write a blog post about ICE Ethiopia project soon. Until that, if you are a developer, network administrator or a hacker, don’t miss out the next gtug-addis meeting at ICE Ethiopia. You will be surprised how much you can gain just in half_a_day event.
